First Minister for Wales Carwyn Jones said on the 12 december 2011 that UK Prime Minister David Cameron's European veto at the European Council on the 9 December 2011 posed a serious threat to Welsh manufacturing industry. He also warned that isolating the UK from the rest of Europe increased the chances of a Yes vote in the forthcoming referendum on Scottish independence. Mr Jones told journalists in Cardiff: 'I am very worried that Wales could be disadvantaged by the Prime Ministers anti-European rhetoric, which is designed to appease Tory Eurosceptics. I dont want investors to be put off bringing jobs to Wales because of concerns that their access to the EU market could be at risk'. |
