Several colleagues are deeply unhappy about the European Union Trade Commissioner, Pascal Lamy's proposals to stop allegedly unfair South Korean competition in shipbuilding. The editorial argues that if Mr Lamy has firm evidence of Korean malpractices he should take the matter to the World Trade Organisation, rather than insist the European Union authorise temporary state aids for European shipyards. |
