Fears for health during EU downturn

Report of a FT interview with Androulla Vassiliou, the European Commissioner for Health. She warned of the health dimension of the global financial and economic crisis. The financial downturn could significantly increase cancer, mental illness and other diseases across Europe unless member states take stronger remedial action.
