An ICM opinion poll, commissioned by the (UK) Foreign and Commonwealth Office, published 5 December 2001, shows that twice as many people think that membership of the EU is 'a good thing for Britain' (47%) than 'a bad thing' (25%). Around 60% think that the EU 'promotes peace and security in Europe' and 'is good for British jobs and trade'. |
