This 'Statistics in Focus' is part of a series of country-specific publications on the results of the Farm Structure Survey (FSS) 2007. It provides a brief but nevertheless comprehensive insight into farm structure in Latvia. A total of 107,750 agricultural holdings were recorded in Latvia in the 2007 Farm structure survey, a 16% decrease since 2005. This drop results mainly from the concentration of farms: the smaller farms have suffered a 22% reduction accompanied by a growth in area (19%) and number (25%) in the larger farms. |
