Family mourn worker, 22, killed at refugee centre / Swedish asylum staff attacked by rioting youth

A young asylum seeker in Sweden allegedly stabbed to death an employee at a refugee centre near Gothenburg on the 25 January 2016. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, died of her injuries in hospital.

Separately, staff at a home for refugee children in southern Sweden were forced to barricade themselves in a room on the 27 January 2016, after 19 young men in their care rioted and attacked them with weapons.

The Local.se and other news sources reported that a gang of up to a hundred black-clad masked men had marched in central Stockholm on the 29 January 2016, singling out and beating up immigrants, and handing out leaflets threatening further violent attacks against unaccompanied refugee youth.
