Fabius threatens to reject constitution unless Chirac moves EU policy to left

French ratification of the European Constitution has been put in doubt after Laurent Fabius, a former Socialist Prime Minister of France and currently 'number two' in the French Socialist Party, threatened to vote 'no' in the 2005 referendum on the Constitution unless French President Jacques Chirac moves European Policy sharply to the left.
