Exports of business services

This publication shows the importance of exports for the business services sector and analyses driving forces as well as barriers encountered in exporting. 20% of services supplied by market research enterprises were sold abroad: 11% intra-EU and 9% extra-EU. Other strong exporters were architectural and engineering activities, technical testing and computer services. International market liberalisation has contributed to this situation and the Services Directive is expected to further encourage exports within the EU.
