Abstract: For reasons of scope this contribution focuses on exploring three of the highlights from last year's jurisprudence. Section I begins by considering the Grand Chamber's most anticipated decision of 2015: Gauweiler. In that judgment, the Court upheld the validity of one of the EU's key eurozone crisis management tools: the European Central Bank's programme of outright monetary transfers. Section II then turns to consider two important cases in the area of EU citizenship each of which make further contributions to the changing nature of that evolving legal status. Finally, section III reflects on recent judicial developments in the field of EU data protection, following on from the landmark judgements in Digital Rights Ireland and Google Spain considered in last year's review. 12 |
