The European Union's climate emissions fell only slightly from 2001 to 2002, the European Environment Agency says in a report issued 15 July 2004. Emissions of climate-changing greenhouse gases from the European Union fell slightly after two years of increase, taking the EU a small step closer to its target of an 8% cut within the next eight years. The report details greenhouse gas emissions for the 15 pre-2004 Member States of the European Union between 1990 and 2002, both by country and by economic sector.
