The Political Guidelines set out the priorities of a forthcoming College of European Commissioners headed by Ursula von der Leyen, which was formally put forward as a candidate for the Presidency of the European Commission by the European Council on 27 June 2024. The document was presented by Ms von der Leyen before the plenary of the European Parliament on 18 July. Its members eventually re-elected her as President of the European Commission.
