The president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Peter Wyman, is to demand a three-year moratorium on the application to non-US companies of new rules from the US financial regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Mr Wyman's institute is a member of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens which represents 41 professional bodies in 29 European countries.
