European Union observes elections in Mozambique

Following an invitation from the Mozambican authorities, the European Union deployed an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to the country to observe the Presidential, Legislative and Provincial Election scheduled for 15 October 2014.

The mission released a preliminary statement of its finding shortly after Election Day and later it released a final report, including recommendations as contribution for future electoral processes.

Judith Sargentini was appointed to lead the EOM as Chief Observer.
