European report on drug consumption rooms

In 2002/3, the EMCDDA carried out a review of studies on supervised drug consumption rooms, analysing their historical background, operational frameworks and outcomes, the results of which are now published in this report. The review forms part of the work of the EMCDDA in monitoring drug use related health consequences and existing efforts to reduce those, guided by the second target of the European Union Drugs Strategy 2000-2004, which is the substantial reduction over five years of the incidence of infectious diseases and the number of drug-related deaths.
