European Parliament elections were held on 22-25 May 2014. In the first of two articles summarising the European and national campaigns, Stuart Brown took a look at the polls with regard to the composition of the next Parliament. He noted that while Eurosceptic parties were predicted to significantly increase their representation, the race between the European People’s Party and the Party of European Socialists to hold the largest number of seats was still too close to call.

In the second of the article (listed in the related urls below) Stuart Brown took a look at the national campaigns, national polling, and the key domestic issues which were at stake in each of the 28 EU states.

Further articles in the news media at the beginning of the voting period 22-25 May 2014 are listed as related urls.
