European Investment Bank loans in Bulgaria

After fifteen years of financing projects supporting Bulgaria’s convergence with the European Union, the European Investment Bank’s lending operations now cover all of the country’s key economic sectors, ranging from basic infrastructure to manufacturing and services, including support for small and medium-sized companies as well as municipalities through local financial institutions.

Since 1990, the EIB’s lending in Bulgaria has totalled around EUR 1.24 billion for financing investment projects in connection with meeting the EU accession criteria.
