European industry hopes to profit from Obama’s new climate plan

Following the announcement by US President Barack Obama on 3 August 2015 regarding a plan to considerably cut carbon emissions from power plants, several European politicians and other stakeholders reacted positively to it.

The plan was seen as an attempt by Mr Obama to secure his legacy and fulfill election promises during his final months in office.
