The primary goal of the proposed European Forest Type scheme is to improve assessment of forest condition based on e.g. indicators reported on sustainable forest management in Europe, within the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE). The scheme thus provides 14 main forest categories for international reporting (pan-Europe). |
