Summary: The European Commission published on 7 November 2019 its Autumn economic forecast for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone. Further information: The European economy registers its seventh consecutive year of growth and is forecast to continue expanding in 2020 and 2021. Labour markets remained strong and unemployment continued to fall. However, the external environment became much less supportive and uncertainty ran high. As a result, the European economy looked to be heading towards a protracted period of more subdued growth and muted inflation. |
