European Commission allocates €1.5 million to victims of internal crisis in East Timor

The European Commission announced on 1 March 2007 the allocation of a further €1.5 million in humanitarian aid to help around 100,000 people displaces or affected by instability in East Timor.

The funds would be channeled through the Commission's Humanitarian Aid department aimed to be used to meet basic needs and facilitate return or resettlement, over a period of 15 months.
