The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) of the European Parliament, on 4 June 2012, requested a European Added Value Assessment (EAVA) to support its work on the legislative initiative report of Alejandro Cercas, with recommendations to the Commission on Information and consultation of workers, anticipation and management of restructuring processes. In its report, the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs called on the Commission to submit a proposal for a legal act. The arguments in favour of this approach were set out in detail in this EAVA, which was drawn up by the European Added Value Unit of the Directorate for Impact Assessment and European Added Value, within the Annexes to the study are available via the Related Urls. |
