On 7 June 2017 the European Union decided to support the people of the Central African Republic (CAR) by promoting peace-building and economic and social development. This support was part of the implementation of the commitments made by the EU at the Brussels Conference for the Central African Republic in November 2016. It enabled the CAR, which has significant ongoing requirements, to provide material support for the restoration of the social contract and security-sector reform. |
