Europe gives troops for joint force

European defence ministers met in Brussels on 20.11.00 to start putting flesh on the bones of the new European rapid reaction force. The aim is to have a total of 60,000 troops capable of being deployed at 60 days notice - an ambitious target to be achieved by the year 2003.
