Europe ‘addicted’ to smoking

Report of the WHO European Ministerial Conference for a Tobacco-free Europe, Warsaw, 18-19 February 2002. At the conference was launched the European report on tobacco control policy and profiles of tobacco control measures taken by the countries of the WHO European Region. The report highlights the successes of European countries' in reducing tobacco consumption and disturbing trends, such as the tobacco industry's continuing assault on public health and the hazardous convergence of smoking rates in Europe's young people.
