Shareholders of Euronext, the European stock market operator, have approved its 10.9bn-euro ($14.3bn) takeover by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), December 2006. Euronext manages the Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon stock markets. The deal must also be cleared by the European Commission and the Dutch government.
