Eurogroup torn apart as French deficit rouses anger

A dispute broke out at a meeting of the 'Eurogroup' on 15 July 2003. The Eurogroup is comprised of the Finance Ministers from the twelve Member States in the eurozone. Smaller Member States who have struggled to comply with the rules of the Stability Pact have lost patience with France which threatens to break the budget rules for the third successive year.
