The book is divided into two main parts. Part one describes the structure, functioning and activities of the institutions and bodies of the European Communities, together with the other European governmental organisations such as the Council of Europe, European Space Agency, and the European Patent Office. Part two is a directory listing the name of the person in charge, address and organisational charts of European governmental organisations, such as the Council and Commission, together with decentralised agencies such as the European Environment Agency. It also lists European non-governmental organisations and universities with departments for European studies. Included are a bibliography of official and unofficial publications and an index of people named in the directory.
