EURO developments:
Counterfeiting. The Commission has adopted a Communication on measures to combat counterfeiting of euro-denominated bank notes and coins. The Commission strategy targets four areas: to develop a prevention and training policy, to set up a standardised system for the exchange of information between competent authorities at EU level, to improve co-operation by setting up a mutual assistance scheme and to put forward legislation initiatives.
