Eurelectric Annual Conference: Germany to launch mini-energy union

Text of a speech by Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete at the Eurelectric Annual Conference on 01 June 2015 in Berlin.

During the same conference, German state secretary for energy Rainer Baaker announced the creation of a 'mini energy union' between Germany and its direct 'electric neighbours' as a way of encouraging the development of the EU-wide Energy Union. It aims at defining common rules that should prevent an energy shortage during supply disruptions.
