EU warns Moldova over move to sack judges

Moldova's parliament gave itself powers to sack Constitutional Court judges and change election rules, moves Brussels said would harm the country's bid for closer ties with the European Union.

Politicians approved the new laws on the 3 May 2013 in the latest round of manoeuvring in a political crisis that had paralysed legislation in the impoverished former Soviet republic for months.
