EU warned to reform or face ‘lost decade’

Reports of the speeches and discussions at the Brussels Economic Forum 2010, Brussels, 25-26 May 2010.

The Forum, now in its 11th version, included sessions on:

+ Coping with the crisis: how specific sectors are faring and the efficacy of financial repair
+ Tackling global warming: how to pay for it and the promise of green growth
+ Exiting the crisis: how to exit the crisis and how the Europe 2020 strategy can spur growth.

Article reports that European Union policymakers warned of a 'lost decade', if Europe emerged from the sovereign debt crisis without a firm commitment to raising productivity, strengthening the EU’s single market and encouraging innovation.
