EU to revisit budget rules by year’s end, says Eurogroup chief

Reports from the monthly Eurogroup meeting of Eurozone finance ministers, Luxembourg, 19 June 2014. Also attending the meeting was the IMF's managing director, Christine Lagarde and the Minister of Finance of Lithuania Rimantas Šadžius.

It was agreed that Lithuania fulfilled the criteria for introducing the euro.

Eurogroup President, Jeroen Dijsselbloem made clear that the European Commission and eurozone governments would re-assess rules on deficit and debt limits by the end of 2014, but that that the current terms be kept to for now.
