EU to propose 2010 budget cut

Preview and reports of a meeting between Council of the European Union and European Parliament officials, July 2009, negotiating an agreement on the 2010 General Budget of the European Union. The Council was proposing to trim the budget by more than €600m in an attempt to keep a tight grip on spending without hindering efforts at economic recovery.
