Ministers from European Union member states have agreed to continue funding research on embryonic stem cells. Formally, Ministers attending the Competitiveness Council, Brussels, 24 July 2006, took their position on the treatment of ethical issues within the proposed 7th Framework Programme and in particular the rules to govern the conditions for research using human embryonic stem cells. |
