EU tackles its own divisions

On 8.12.00, leaders of the European Union began substantive negotiations at their European Council Summit in Nice (7-9 December 2000). With the size and political structure of the EU under discussion, the summit is being seen as one of the most important meetings on the future of the continent in recent years.
