EU regulators charge Visa Europe over credit card fees

On 31 July 2012 DG Competition of the European Commission charged Visa Europe over its cross-border credit card fees. The EU criticised Visa Europe, which is the European licensee of Visa Inc, for harming competition between banks and leading to higher consumer prices.
