EU life sciences regulation — medicines and therapies, and biotechnologies — fosters cross-border research collaboration and allows UK science access to the EU market, the United Kingdom House of Commons Science and Technology Committee said in report published in June 2016. The Government should be putting in place a contingency plan to protect the UK's science sector in the event of a leave vote in the EU referendum in June 2016.
