The European Union has offered Japan a package of incentives to persuade it to give up its bid to host the world's biggest nuclear fusion reactor. The EU wants to build the nuclear fusion reactor at Cadarache in France, while Tokyo favours Rokkasho-Mura, in north Japan. It seems likely that the EU will proceed with building the reactor even without the support of Japan, the US and South Korea. China and Russia favour the French site.
