EU ministers to meet candidate nations

European Union ministers held a special meeting on 23 November 2000 with their counterparts from 12 countries which are preparing for EU membership. The talks, in the French town of Sochaux, centred on the institutional reforms necessary for EU expansion - due to be put to December's heads of government summit in Nice.
