The first meeting of the Task Force established by the March 2010 European Council on improved crisis resolution and better budgetary discipline in the EU was held in Brussels on 21 May 2010.

The Task Force consisted of representatives of all 27 EU Member States - mostly Ministers of Finance - plus the European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, President Trichet from the European Central Bank, Prime-Minister Juncker from the Eurogroup and Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council.
