EU governments warned on pensions

The Commission adopted on 17 December 2002, for the first time, a comprehensive European Union-level analysis of national pension systems and their ability to face the challenge of demographic ageing. The report warns that EU governments need to speed up radical economic reforms in order to defuse the pensions timebomb in the next few decades.
