EU framework decisions: Ministerial presentation

The purpose of the meeting was to consider the motion concerning exercise by the State of an option or discretion provided under Article 1.11 of the Treaty of Amsterdam to take part in the adoption of the following three proposed measures: (i) the proposal for a Council framework decision determining the provisions of the 1995 convention on simplified extradition procedures between the member states of the European Union and of the 1996 convention relating to extradition between the member states of the EU; (ii) the proposal for a Council framework decision on combating corruption in the private sector and (iii) a proposal for a Council framework decision on the execution in the European Union of orders freezing property or evidence.
