EU foreign affairs chief calls on world to shun Gaddafi

Report of a debate in the European Parliament on the situation in the Southern Neighbourhood and, in particular, Libya, Strasbourg, 9 March 2011.

Separately, EurActiv reported that EU ambassadors in Libyan capital Tripoli had backed proposals by Muammar Gaddafi's regime to establish an independent mission to assess the situation on the ground, despite the insistence of top EU officials that the embattled dictator should step down.
