Date: 17/09/1998 to impose anti-dumping duties on imports of unbleached cotton from China, Egypt, India, Indonesia and Pakistan. Luxembourg joined the UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Ireland in opposing the measures. The Commission has promised to modify its proposals before the 9 October deadline for a final decision in a last-ditch bid to convince member states to support duties. But industry sources believe governments are unlikely to reverse this week's decision. |
