EU dependent on Russian gas for ‘foreseeable future’, warns IEA

The International Energy Agency published a report in December 2014 which concluded that the European Union would remain dependent of Russia's pipeline gas imports for the 'foreseeable future'.

However, the IEA also pointed out positive developments since the last review in 2008, like new gas pipelines and higher LNG import and gas storage capacity.
