Report of a FT interview with Connie Hedegaard, the European Commissioner dealing with climate issues, March 2012.

She said that the threat of a trade war would not make the European Union back down on climate legislation, following pressure from foreign governments who want the EU to drop plans to charge airlines for carbon emissions.

She said that the EU was determined to work with the US, China and other nations to reach an international agreement to curb airlines’ emissions.
