EU confirms deadly bird flu in Turkey

The H5N1 strain of bird flu has been confirmed in Turkey, and it seems likely will also be confirmed in Romania. The European Commission has banned imports of live birds, poultry meat and other poultry products from Romania, whilst imports of live birds and feathers from Turkey have been banned since 10 October 2005.
