EU-China Summit, 16 July 2018

Summary:

The 20th bilateral summit between the European Union and China was held in Beijing on 16 July 2018. The agenda included the following items:

• Agreement on further development of the EU-China strategic partnership;
• Discussion on foreign and security cooperation and the situation in the respective neighbourhood;
• Adoption of a joint statement, which features an annex on climate change and clean energy;
• Confirmation of commitment to the rules-based trading system;
