EU audit chief’s inquiry blocked

Jules Muis, the European Union's ex-Chief Auditor, has denied a link between his resignation and the refusal by the European Commission to allow Mr Muis' audit team to look in depth at contracts awarded by Eurostat, including whether the contracts were properly carried out.
