EU attacks carbon border tax initiative

Report of a FT interview with the European Commissioner for the Environment, Stavros Dimas, October 2009.

He discussed issues inconnection with the forthcoming United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference (COP15), Copenhagen, December 2009. He expressed reservations about a so-called carbon border tax – tariffs on imports from countries that do not sign up to a global climate change treaty - which have been proposed by some EU Member States.
